Shop This Stylish Boutique From the Comfort of Home

You will find everything from on-trend pieces to timeless accessories and shoes in both the brick-and-mortar locations and on the Posh website.

In the last 20 years, as Nashville’s Hillsboro Village neighborhood has welcomed new businesses only to later bid them farewell, one store has remained a constant: Posh Boutique. Out of shopping frustration, Nashville native Kathy Hadley opened Posh. “There has been a resurgence of boutiques in the last 10 to 15 years, but there was not much out there when I opened in Nashville,” she tells us. “Opening a retail store is something I had always wanted to do, and I saw a need at the time.” She opened Posh to give women — and men — an option for contemporary clothing. With three stores in the Nashville area, an online shop and the opportunity to franchise, it is clear that her vision for Posh was something consumers were craving, and now 20 years later, there’s no sign of slowing down.

Everyone is looking to be comfortable, and wearing sneakers is one way to ensure this.

As a graduate of Belmont University, Kathy was familiar with the Hillsboro Village area, which is close by the campus. The current location is their third in the Village, and the largest of their three area stores. The Hillsboro Village store stands out for the selection of menswear and the sale room. It is the only location that sells menswear, making it popular with the guys. Due to its location, it is most popular with students and tourists, but there is also a longtime shopper base from the music industry. The sale room has loyal followers of its own. A dedicated space in the back of the store, the sales room holds sale items from all three locations — which means the selection is usually large and diverse. Exposed brick walls and high ceilings offer an industrial feel that is often found in Nashville. Set within the space, the clothing takes on a new feel, and the shopping experience is one that is stylish from start to finish.

New Denim Trends: A Guide to This Season’s Top Looks

Mid- and high-rise are very on trend. “Mid-rise is flattering on everyone,” says Jennifer Martens of Posh Boutique, “and even though some people are scared of a high-rise, it’s really comfortable and forgiving.” Shown, MHudson denim, $205

The kids are back in school, and the seasons will soon begin to shift, which means it’s definitely time to update your wardrobe for fall. And while you’re typically able to wear the same classic jeans year after year, it’s always fun to add a few trendy pieces into the mix. For Fall 2017, old is new again in denim, and designers are incorporating influences from the ’70s through the ’90s with funky embroidery, flares and interesting hem lines. One thing that’s not on the list, though, are ultra-low rise jeans.

Mules are a huge shoe trend for fall, and they’re perfect paired with the step hem that will show them off more than a regular cut. Not sure how to find the right length? The back hem should fall at the bottom of your ankle. Hudson denim, $205; Free People mules, $98

“We’re seeing a lot of mid- and high-rise jeans this fall,” says Jennifer Martens, buyer for Nashville’s Posh Boutique. “Mid-rise is flattering on everyone, and even though some people are scared of a high-rise, it’s really comfortable and forgiving.”
